Federal Volunteer Service in the Education & Outreach Department

Support us with our educational and leisure programmes in the Stadtmuseum and the Städtische Galerie. You will prepare events including materials, sit in on workshops and assist our mediators, as well as keeping an overview of our workshop rooms. Ideally, you would like to write short texts for social media and take photos for them.

  • Period: 12 months
  • Location: City Museum and Municipal Gallery, Wilsdruffer Straße 2, 01067 Dresden

In 2009, Stefan Martin handed over photographic and film material for possible use in the museum as part of preparations for an exhibition on the subject of 1989 / 1990 in Dresden. Due to his death shortly afterwards, the material remained unaccounted for in the museum.

The material in question is as follows:

  • 2 DVDs with films: 1. Zu Tisch. The best pictures of a film HERE, three films by Olaf Böhme & Stefan Martin; 2. video studio Dresden / Martin / Böhme
  • 52 black and white photographs, hand prints, Dresden 1985 to 1991
  • 2 folders with negative archive
  • 15 photo bags with 35mm negatives, Dresden 1985 to 1991

This collection is largely unprocessed, a first partial inspection was carried out with family members.

The tasks during the internship:

  • Creating an inventory overview
  • Rough recording of the remaining material in the Museum + database (under supervision)
  • Researching the motifs/persons, possibly in dialogue with family members
  • Handing over material not relevant to the collection to surviving relatives
  • Relocation suitable for storage
  • Packing according to museum standards
