Friedrich August Krubsacius (1718-1789) was a court architect, the first professor of architecture at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts and later also a senior master builder. Respected and well-known at the time, his life and work have almost been forgotten today. However, a significant example of his architecture still exists in Dresden: the former "Land- und Steuerhaus" - now home to the City Museum and the Dresden Municipal Gallery. Let us tell you about the life and work of the master builder, his architectural works and the chequered fate of the "Landhaus".
